Mallnitz lies in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park at an altitude of 1,200 metres and is one of Austria’s 21 Alpine pearls.
Mallnitz is known as the “Bergsteigerdorf” and “Luftkurort” and is, both in summer and winter, the perfect holiday destination for all those who want to avoid mass tourism and enjoy the overwhelming nature. With its perfect location Mallnitz offers sports and recreation at every level and for all ages.
Mallnitz is easily accessible by car, train or plane. From Utrecht you can get to the Autotrein in Böckstein in about 1000 car kilometres, which brings you through the mountain to Mallnitz in 10 minutes.
Because Mallnitz has its own train station, you can also reach the village from the Netherlands ‘station-to-station’ in approx. 11 hours by train. If you fly to Salzburg, you can reach the village by connecting train in approx. 1:40 hour.
